The Calvert County Watermen’s Association sponsors our Annual Watermen’s Festival during September. This family oriented event, held at the Watermen’s Wharf in Solomons, MD, features work boat docking contests. Last year approximately 2,000 people attended the Festival and we expect an even larger turnout this year.
The boat docking contest is the main event of the Festival. Throughout the summer, numerous docking contests are held around the Chesapeake Bay; however, the Calvert County Festival/Docking Contest is rapidly becoming the premier contest of the season. The boat captains, while competing for cash prizes, thrill the spectators with their boat handling skills.
The success of the Festival is largely dependent upon the support of the local business community. As such, we are soliciting your tax deductible support for this year’s Festival. The Calvert County Watermen’s Association is a non-profit organization. All donations are greatly appreciated; however, Festival sponsors contributing $300 or more will receive a unique Festival T-shirt that identifies them as a sponsor, reserve seating in the bleachers, and complimentary beverages. Sponsors will also be identified on the Sponsors Board at the Festival and in various press releases and Festival advertisements.
The Calvert County Watermen’s Association thanks you in advance for your most generous support of this year's Watermen’s Festival. If you have any questions concerning the Festival or your sponsorship, please contact Tommy Zinn, President, Calvert County Watermen’s Association, 12925 Spring Cove Drive, Lusby, MD, 20657. Telephone: (410) 326-3929.
