For over twenty years, the Calvert County Watermen's Association has held our Annual Watermen's Festival and Boat Docking Competition in Solomons, Maryland. The event is an opportunity for watermen and the community to connect and celebrate the Bay. The main event features a boat docking contest. During the event, watermen from around the Bay compete to race and tie their workboats. We also strive to make this a family event with an anchor and buoy throwing contest for children during halftime. We have raffles, food and beverage vendors, a beer truck, and live music on site. The success of the Festival is largely dependent upon the support of our donors. The Calvert County Watermen's Association is a 50l(c) 3 non-profit organization, .and we are soliciting your tax-deductible support for this year's Festival. We would be grateful for a donation on any level; no amount is too small. Additionally, we are looking for prize donations for our children's anchor and buoy throwing competition. Items can include gift cards or business advertising items. Any additional money raised during this event is used to support watermen dealing with unexpected hardships, provide scholarships, and support other community organizations such as the Rescue Squad, Fire Department, Maryland Watermen's Association, Marine Museum, and Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Program.
